Willis Tower/Skydeck Chicago

Willis Tower is the premier corporate office building in Chicago, home to over 100 different companies, including prominent law, insurance, transportation, and financial services that serve the city. It is also an essential and iconic building in Chicago’s skyline, the tallest building in the entire Western Hemisphere. Willis Tower, previously known as Sears Tower, holds over 4.5 million square feet of space, including the Skydeck and 103rd floor glass viewing platform, The Ledge, which all together see over 1.5 million visitors per year. The fully enclosed glass boxes retract into the building, allowing visitors to easily see the structure of the building up close and personal. The glass mixes with steel in an architectural masterpiece that draws direct attention to the nearly invisible support system.

While here your group will be able to see museum-quality exhibits that highlight the tower and Chicago, as well as a video screen presentation of different locations across the city from the same view and height as the Ledge, 1,353 feet high up into the air.  You will have the chance to stand on the Ledge, the glassbox at 4.3 feet out of the Skydeck, showing never before seen views of the city. You can also see information about the structure on the multimedia elevators, as well as the theater that shows an impressive introductory film called Reaching for the Sky. The unobstructed views from anywhere on the 103rd floor shows views of 50 miles across the city plus 4 states into the distance, situated directly above the Chicago River and Wacker Drive. The interactive educational attractions not only celebrate and teach about Willis Tower itself, but about Chicago sports, architecture, pop culture, history, food, music, and people, making this a fun and essential Chicago stop!
