Chicago Symphony Orchestra

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra was first established in 1891 and has since then consistently hailed as one of the greatest symphony orchestra groups in the world. This musical ensemble has seen some of the best conductors and guest artists on the international music scene since its inception and performs over 150 successful concerts a year. All of the yearly concerts are split between the downtown home in the Symphony Center and the summer home in Ravinia in Highland Park, the annual summer music festival. This group is the owner of many best-selling recordings as well as frequent sold-out tour performances in the United States and around the globe. They have even received two Grammy’s for the recording of Verdi’s Requiem!

Being one of the oldest orchestras in the nation doesn’t stop this group from setting the standards consistently for musicians, with it’s full range of orchestral works currently under the seasoned baton of Riccardo Muti. The CSO Radio series presents for a large group of listeners nationwide a record number of award winning recordings featuring the exquisite artistry of the Chicago Symphony. If your group has the chance to even listen to them practicing you won’t regret it, hearing for yourselves the thunderclap precision of the incredibly talented group of musicians. The top tier soloist and guest conductors make a great name for themselves and oftentimes get to perform with the world's top performers, such as the frequent Yo-Yo Ma!
